Privacy Policy
Our current Privacy Policy is updated with effect from May 24th 2018 in order to comply with the General Data Protection Rules (GDPR) implemented by the EU with effect from May 25th 2018.
 
Discover the World Nordic collects and stores the following information:
  • First and last name
  • Job title
  • Working (office) address(es)
  • Work related e-mail address(es)
  • Land line phone number(s)
  • Telefax number(s)
  • Mobile phone number(s)
 
All of the above information falls under the term described as “General Personal Information” in the GDPR act.
 
We collect, store and update the above mentioned data for companies and relevant employees as well as individuals working in, or with a professional connection to the travel and tourism industry in the following countries:
  • Denmark
  • Sweden
  • Norway
  • Finland
  • Estonia
  • Latvia
  • Lithuania
  • Iceland
  • The Faroe Islands
 
The purpose of collecting and storage of the above information is to enable our direct contact to groups or individuals with the purpose of ensuring updated and correct information about our clients in the travel and tourism industry. You are always welcome to contact us for an updated list of our present client portfolio.
 
 
Collection of data
Data is sourced from our own websites, from ongoing contact to companies we work with professionally, from physical or online meetings and events and from any other direct interaction with persons or companies in the travel and tourism industry in any of the above mentioned countries.
 
Storage of data
Collected information is stored in our own CRM software and with our IT and software suppliers. All suppliers of IT and software have complied with the GDPR rules in effect from May 25th 2018, and Discover the World Nordic has ensured their proper documentation of such compliance.
 
Access to data
Collected and stored data is accessible to employees in Discover the World Nordic for working related and professional purposes. All employees in our company have been informed of the strict definitions of the term “working related purposes” and that any private use of information from our databases is prohibited.
Any individual or company/organization, included in our combined database, has full access to all information about themselves, whether they wish to stay listed in the database and with how much general personal information.
Requests for disclosure on an individual’s or company’s listed information in our combined database should be sent by e-mail to: info@discovertheworld.dk. A listing of the stored general personal information will be sent directly to the person or company/organization asking for his/hers/its details within 72 hours during work days and only after individual assurance in each case that the (e-mail) address the information is to be sent to belongs to the individual/company/organization asking for the information.
 
Updating of data
Updating stored data happens on a continued basis and after the same guidelines as described above in the paragraph “Collection of Data”.
 
Deleting data
We delete stored data on a continued basis when we learn that the information in question is no longer valid. As an example, we delete e-mail addresses when learning that the mailbox in question does not receive e-mails from our company any longer.
Further, we delete any information upon request from the individual/company/organization we have collected information on.
All electronic mail from Discover the World Nordic, sent to any individual/company/organization listed in our combined database, contains a link or similar response option, offering the recipient the option of being deleted from our database.
